Can You Feel It Coming?

I'm talking about spring, of course! The animals always seem to know exactly when it's coming and I believe that's because they still count on their intuition far more than we humans do and I don't believe that's a very good thing, we have all of our sense's for a reason and we should trust them to be right but you know the old saying, "use it or lose it!" so use your instincts and have faith in your intuition, it's there just for you....:o)

A Snow Day........

They say we could have a snow day but I think they should have at least looked outside before they made their prediction. Bees are buzzing, birds are singing the sky is a beautiful blue and everything is blooming and it sure looks like spring from here........

Signs of Life....

With the changing of the season's from winter to spring comes all the signs of life, flowers sprout up from the ground which is no longer frozen, birds are singing once again, baby bunnies start hopping around looking for fresh green sprouts for breakfast, bee's anticipate making honey once again and little girls get excited about dressing up in frilly dresses and floppy hats and frolicking through the fields of flowers........

My Sister & Dad's Birthday....

Today is my little sister's birthday, it's also my dad's whom passed away over a decade ago although I still miss him so much I can hardly bear it! I miss my sister also, she's still alive but she doesn't talk to me but in case she happens by this blog site she'll know I was thinking about her any way, she always loved unicorns so I made this collage of them for her, she's in the picture below....

While I was putting Rena's birthday collage together I found this beautiful unicorn picture and thought it was worth sharing, it definitely rates as far as beautiful things go and so do baby sister's so where ever you are baby sister I hope your birthday is as special as you and brings you all the happiness your heart can hold........

Snow Melting & Colors Of Spring Approaching....

More spring images and colors for you today....All the colors are eye pleasing after a winter of white! Soon planting will start but not until the snow has melted off of the highest peak surrounding us, waiting until then is the only way to guarantee a late freeze won't destroy spring blossoms and seedlings here........

Springing Forward....

We switched to day light savings time last week which is one of the signs that spring is just around the corner and I don't know about you but I can hardly wait! I am so ready for the color burst spring brings when everything starts to grow and bloom, when the air is light, fresh and scented with the blooms of spring, the time we shed all the cumbersome heavy clothing of winter to enjoy sunny days........

New Beginnings....

I use this blog simply to post beautiful things, a positive moment at a time when there isn't much to be positive about. I enjoy being creative and being creative on a pc is new to me but I am having a great time and a lot of fun discovering all I can do or accomplish on a pc and for the next couple of weeks I will be posting spring collages. Because of the Internet we have access to so many beautiful pictures from all around the world and I can spend hours gazing through them and so I've decided as I do I will put together collages of the beautiful pictures I see since I enjoy it and post them on this blog for all to see. There is so much out there and this is a way of getting to view more in less space and I enjoy putting the pictures together in a way that makes them good for viewing, at least I think so and I hope you do....Spring is a wonderful season full of new beginning's and fresh starts....

I love being able to go outside without being all bundled up in heavy clothing under knitted hats and knee deep in snow boots and I think most of all I love all the flower that bloom signally the end of winter and beginning of spring and soon after it starts we'll begin to see new babies of all kinds
making an entrance into the world, spring is a wonderful season, it makes everything beautiful....

It Came.....

That's right everyone, the snow has returned to us and I'm loving it! They say this will be the strongest storm we have received all year and I believe! This year we've had hardly any snow and it's depressing to me not to have a decent snow fall so hopefully I'll awaken in the morning to a thick blanket of snow and it'll it still be falling...............

My New Smile, That's A Beautiful Thing........

Being able to smile, something that is usually taken for granted by most but not when you don't have dental insurance, your job pays lousy and your dental health sucks because of a calcium defenciency in childhood! But thanks to the friends that informed me about Algadones, Mexico where I recently went and had all my dental work done at less than 10% of the cost the dentist's here in the States wanted to charge me. My husband also got all of his work done there as well, it was done in state of the art offices by well qualified dentists contrary to what the dentist's here will tell you about it, seems they just don't like competition for obvious reasons. Algadones is a quaint little town just 9 miles from Yuma, Arizona and it has over 400 qualified dentists to serve your needs, it also has many pharmacy's and a lot of qualified eye doctors. My friend got an eye exam, 2 pair of prescription glasses and 2 pair of prescription sunglasses for about $200.00. We'll go back down for a regular visit in about six months from our last and I'll see an eye doctor then too. I haven't been able to afford to have an exam or get new glasses for almost 8 years now and since I have a smile I'm once again proud to show off I want to see it well also. The trip is not possible for all but if it's at all possible it's well worth going there to keep up on your dental and vision care if you don't have insurance or can't afford it here, in fact, I don't see why anyone would pay the jacked up high prices here which only drive insurance prices up, dental in the United States is utterly and completely out of control. If you want any more information just shoot me an email, I'll gladly help get you on your way there. I am so happy to be able to eat anything again, to not be in constant pain or ill all the time and most of all to smile and not be embarrassed again.

It's a beautiful thing to wear your smile on the outside and the inside as well........

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like more information on this subject, I'll gladly and quickly reply. If this is accessible or doable for you then "just do it" you'll never regret it. Good dental health is important to your over all health and being able to afford it is a beautiful thing.
I can put you in touch with my dental office there, which I love or you can choose from many others, vision care is also available and I can even supply you with the numbers to reasonable places to stay in Yuma on your trip and information regarding border crossings and such. XXX:o)

More Beauty Of The Season........

There are so many beautiful things to enjoy in the winter months, it's hard to choose just a couple but I thought that this close up photograph of the ice and snow crystals on these branches were not only beautiful but fascinating the way they form and cling to the branches........

And then I found this original painting of winter and I thought the artist captured winter wonderfully, I always love original art and I thought this painting is most definately worth sharing........

And speaking of enjoyment for those of you who don't appreciate winter and all the joys the season brings then maybe you should just stay inside and cozy up to a warm fireplace with someone you love, that's a wonderful way to enjoy the season.......

Don't Forget....

I went looking for something unusual yet beautiful that also reflected the season and I found this beautiful ice sculpture of an elephant family that was done for a carnival in Quebec, Canada and then we added the little guy getting a refreshing drink of cold water and who could resist a baby elephant especially with a "do" like his. And those two in lower left are to remind you Valentines Day is only five days away, don't forget to remember your special love on the special day for love because it's a beautiful thing....

Pittsburg Steeler's Win SuperBowl 43 In An Exciting Game

The winner's of the 43rd Superbowl Championship game, the Pittsburgh Steeler's, a team effort, a team win and a team celebration, it was a beautiful day wasn't it, Mr. Rogers?
Owner, Dan Rooney, Ben Roesthlisberger, Quarterback and Head Coach Mike Tomlin showing off the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Those championship winning smile's are just a beautiful thing aren't they?
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! The fruits of your labor, a Superbowl championship and a beautiful custom designed diamond ring, that's a beautiful thing......Just ask anyone who's done it......
This was the catch that won the game for the Steeler's, a pass caught by receiver, Santonio Holmes(#10) in the closing minutes of the 4th quarter, take a glimpse of those toes down with the ball under control I was watching and it was truly a beautiful thing....

Looking Up.....

Here in the high dessert of Nevada we get some very beautiful and unique cloud formations so I decided to do beautiful clouds then as I went surfing on the Internet I noticed a lot of other beautiful cloud formations. There were so many beautiful one's I couldn't settle for just one so I put a few of my favorites together and I hope you enjoy them. Something beautiful, a little sweet candy for the eyes.......

Know Any Good Rain Dance's?

Well, it's hard not to enjoy the beautiful sunshine we are getting but we will dry up and blow away the first time the wind comes sailing down the eastern side of the Sierra's if we don't get more rain and snow. Weather man said nothing but sunshine for at least a week and knowing his accuracy at predicting the weather that gives me hope that a blizzard could be just on the other side of those Sierra's coming at us, but just in case, I mean he could be right, every once in a while they get it right, if you got a rain dance fill free to start anytime and don't stop till you feel the splash.......Rain is a beautiful thing and it brings many more beautiful things with it....

Happy New Year....

Chinese New Year that is, the year of the Ox! I'm very happy to see the year of the Rat gone, you see, I' m a Horse and Rat years are very nasty for Horses, bad, bad, bad! And it was so I'm glad it's gone and I'm looking forward to 2009, year of the Ox, the projected outlook isn't fantastic or great but it's better than last year and I survived it so I'll thrive this year at least I hope I do. I realize the economy still sucks, the realty market almost doesn't exist, the banks got bailed out again but they're keeping all the money for themselves and I do NOT want to talk about the stock market and you don't want to get me started! This blog is for beautiful things only and there is way too much UGLY involved in the stock market, especially now.

As for being at the bottom of the food chain, well, I got kicked down almost 2 years ago and I'm slowly crawling back up, right now the only difference for me is I have lots of company now....companionship is a beautiful thing;o}

Rain Drops....

Rain Drops....

Original Poem by Ruth Williams

They free fall from heaven landing softly upon the earth
Gently cleaning the planet and quenching it's thirst
Little drops bringing life each time that they fall
Replenishing, refreshing and restoring us all
Some run for cover while others dance in their midst
They inspire young lovers to stop and share a kiss
I'm speaking of the rain drops that fall from the sky
I wonder, "Could it be Mother Nature having a good cry?"
They come through all seasons, no set time and no set place
And there's no life without them, life exists in their grace
They leave everything clean and a fresh scent in the air
And I love listening to them fall as I rock in my chair....

Lately we've had a few spring like days and it's way to early into
winter for it but for the last few days we have rain showers on and
off and it must have inspired me so I road the little poem above and
I hope you enjoy it. We are completely back to winter today and the
snow fell, just a dusting to lightly coat everything.

I've Heard of Spring Break But What About Winter?

People tend to get a little stir crazy during the winter months and some people just don't care for the winter season at all, I love it but I thought maybe it would be good to take a break from winter beauty and maybe go somewhere tropical. I love tropical beaches, they are always so beautiful and makes you think of the smell of salt in the air, warm breezes gently blowing against your skin, sunshine warming your face so I thought I show you a little tropical beauty today........

Winter's Unique Beauty

I just love the season's, each one for it's own unique beauty. I've recently suffered a devastating loss and so I've shed a lot of tears lately so this picture of a beautiful weeping willow all covered in winter's glory caught my eye and I wanted to share it's magnificence with you today as we are in the midst of the winter season........

My Angel Died....

This past Saturday I lost my Angel Baby after sharing life and love with her for 16 years. She was truly the sweetest and best natured puppy I've ever seen and I am so broken hearted over the loss, I lost her daddy almost 2 years ago and still haven't gotten over that loss yet. Her daddy is the gorgeous blond guy sitting pretty in the upper left photo, the other photo's are of Angel. I got Tiger aka Boo when he was four weeks old and he passed just before his twentieth birthday, I watched as Angel was born and decided right then she would remain with me and the pain and sense of loss is simply overwhelming right now but what could compare to the beauty of 36 years combined of unconditional love, nothing! What could be more beautiful than that? The answer is simple, absolutely nothing! And that's the beauty Bitchin'Bunny's has to share today....

The Owl, Sara Von Norden

This is a beautiful story so of course it has a happy ending. My husband is a carpenter and he works for a local casino downtown, they have been remodeling and it takes lots of maintenance to keep this building put up in the early 1800's up and running with the latest in casino and restaurant equipment but anyway he called me early one morning and said the was a huge owl outside and she couldn't seem to fly although he could see nothing that would indicate what the problem was. I told him I thought it was best if he could call the wildlife authorities and keep her quiet until they arrive so he did. It turned out the owl had a severe gastrointestinal infection and she was kept and treated at a local wildlife recovery site. When she had fully recovered the head of the recovery site called Jack and asked if he would like to release her since he had initially rescued her and of course he did. The picture above is Jack, my husband releasing Sara Von Norden (we named her of course) close to the site where he found her. The lady at the wildlife infirmary said she was the largest Great Horned Owl she'd ever seen in this area, normally they max out around 3 pounds, our Sara weighed almost 4 pounds. It is truly a beautiful thing when the wild meets urban America and comes out of it better and free, it's also a beautiful thing to know that man and wildlife can co exist on this planet in harmony........

I want to thank the Reno Gazette for sending us a copy of the photo they took than ran with their article.

Thinking Spring........

I know it's way too early in the year to be thinking about spring but I did today, it could have been because we had a beautiful sunshiny day today, one that would have been perfect for spring but it's only January and we haven't had nearly enough snow and rain. But I decided although it may be too early for spring it's never a wrong time to enjoy some beautiful art work so I found this painting in photobucket and it didn't give the artist name but I think the painting is gorgeous so I thought I'd share it with you........

2009, It's Gonna Be Good........

Happy New Year everyone and it is going to be a happy year for us anyway, don't ask me how I know because I can't really explain it to you but when I awoke this morning (1/1/09) the first thing I noticed was that it was as if a weight had been lifted from my chest. It was a feeling of lightness, of realizing the worst was over and it could only get better and would, it felt great! I realize this country is still in a major financial mess with no cure or end in site as of yet and I know it will probably get worse before it gets better. As for me the recent years have been the worse of times, not all bad at all and even very, very good in some instances but worse in the over all big picture. I find myself almost breaking into spring fever early in anticipation of the future in spite of the current circumstance's and that's a beautiful thing!
There's something to be said for being at the bottom of the food chain, as everyone is falling to where you are and have been for awhile, you've already established yourself there, got your bearings, adjusted and are working on rising to the place you want to be. I say it in that manner because I have no visions of grandeur or immense wealth, I have no desire to acquire either I just want comfortable, a measure of security and peace of mind. So while a large part of the country, hell, for that matter the world is free falling downward, I have already landed hard on my ass, gotten up, dusted myself off, cried myself dry and proceeded to start climbing back to where I came from and this is a very friendly atmosphere for doing just that. I have a wonderful partner who comes from similar circumstance to journey with and we have friends and family who we love dearly and who loves us in return, we have decent health, intelligence, do not fear but thrive on hard work and we are good, highly ethical individuals with a lot of integrity. Can't nothing or no one hold a team like that down for long any way and we've been down long enough.
We are rising, the San Francisco 49er's are rising, Notre Dame is rising and it's only the second day into the new year! My husband, Jack is an Ox and it's the year of the Ox and if anyone deserves an awesome year of goodness coming their way it's him, I'm a Horse and last year was a bad one for me but I survived, in fact even improved on many fronts so I'm excited and eager to see what 2009 will bring our way. And I still can't get over the wonderful feeling I felt this morning and I can't explain where it came from or why it came I am only glad that it did, I don't question it because the intensity in which it was felt left no reason to only to enjoy it and that's just what I intend to do.
No one ever reads this blog but maybe if I make a better effort to publish something new on it everyday one day soon someone will take notice, if not that's OK to because the nature of this blog at least makes me take a few minutes out of everyday to think about something beautiful in my life, something I want to share and that in itself is a very beautiful thing, don't think? You'll be hearing more from me........
